Do I Need Lead Flashings?
If you have a leak close to abutments (parapet walls, chimneys etc), it is highly likely that you will need new lead flashings to solve your problem. Some of the most problematic areas on your roof are abutments. Many original roofs were installed with cement fillets and slip tiles. As the property moves naturally (especially on bus routes), the cement fillets crack and pull away from the parapet wall/chimney. This means any water falling on against the wall or chimney will run down & behind the crack… and in to your roof.

Our lead flashings are fixed with lead clips and pointed with cement mortar, lime or lead sealant. All of our flashings are cleaned and finished with patination oil.
